Project Runway 3

It's time for another season of Project Runway. As some of you may know, me and my designer (Ezell3000) was in season 2 and made it to the final 3, but ended up getting 3rd. It was a fun experience and I was fortunate enough to participate again. I will again be a model this season and will be working with my assigned designer, tackytinker.

This week the show will be on Tuesday and Thursday and so we will see what happens. For those of you that didn't see my posts about this for last season, the designers are posed with a challenge in the form of a fit and will work with their models to design a fit for the model to wear that matches the theme of the challenge. At the end of each show, there is a deliberation that ends up in a designer and model to be eliminated. Sometimes there are group challenges that involved multiple designers and models as well.

There are also opportunities for gaining immunity for future rounds. And this season, I heard that there will be twists where some people that have been eliminated will have a chance to come back.

When the competition reaches the final 3 designers, each of them have to get additional models to build a collection of fits for a particular theme of their choosing. There might be some twists with this as well this season, so we will have to see.

I will be posting updates and pics of the fits my designer came up with me and that I tried to sell on the runway.

First show was tonight and it was a lot of fun. My designer and I advance to the next round. We didn't win the round, but the judges like the fit and I think we had the 2nd best one. The challenge was called "Redesigning a Classic". The idea was to take a simple noob fit with just a t-shirt and jeans and make it high fashion. This is what we came up with. Note the color coordination and the movement. The judges like that and also liked how the outfit was accessorized:

Thanks yall. Its more of a competition between the designers. Our job as models are to sell the fits that they come up with when we walk down the runway. But during the design process, we do provide some input or try to find stuff in our wardrobes that match what they are looking for. Ultimately the decisions were hers. She would tell me what she liked and didn't like, what to change, etc. We went thru a few fits yesterday and settled on that one. I think we work well together and hope we go far. The competition is very fierce this season tho, so we shall see. Next show is on Thursday nite.

Yea, its in my storage too, but I actually like that top. I have made some cool retro fits with it. That fit was well color coordinated and the yellow high-top sneakers was a nice matching touch. During the judging I had told my designer I thought that was a great fit and turns out she won. But I think we came in 2nd place so not too bad for the 1st show.

Yup yup, not too bad for the 1st round. There are many to go tho, so we will have to wait and see.

Well the 2nd round of the show was kind of chaotic. I wasn't able to make the show on Thursday because of the PST Premier and then some of the designers didn't show up. So they rescheduled it for Friday, which is challenging, cuz I was at another fashion show that night as a designer, but we managed to get models and designers there for round 2. The challenge was "Last Resort" and was a group challenge were a group of designers and their respective models had to create a collection for a resort. There were 2 groups. Each designer/model would still be judged separately. THe group I was in decided to do something different, a winter resort. our concept was "stylish, high-fashion outfits for an upscale winter resort". Unfortunately, our group did not have cohesion and we ended up losing to the other group. However, the fit my designer came up with with me was the best in our group and we advanced to the next round. 2 of the designers in our group were eliminated.

We didn't get many pictures of our group or any of me walking down the runway, but here is a shot the photographer took of me while i was working with my designer (that's me on the left going back into my wardrobe to make some minor changes to my fit lol):

I had on winter hat, white leather coat, black and white skirt and white knee-high boots. The last change I made was to change to a the thigh-high white boots.


We had the best fit, but the other designers seemed lost and had difficulty working with their models. It was late and people were getting frustrated. Me and Tinker were done with 30 minutes to spare tho lol. Well the next show is on Tuesday and it will be back to an individual challenge and so I think we will do well.

If we get to the finals, the designers will design a collection, but it will be that one designer with multiple models and so that makes it easier to have cohesion.

Round 3
The theme was avante garde. so the idea was to come up with a wild and crazy fit like something grace jones or nicki minaj would wear.

btw, i love working with my designer this season. she is really nice and we work well together. i have lots of clothes, but she gives me good direction and knows exactly what she wants when she see's it. i put on something and she tells me exactly what she wants me to change and how. then if she doesn't like the change after she see's it we adjust until she see's it and then BAM we arrive at the final result. I hope we win the whole thing.

We won that round AND we won last night too! That's 2 rounds in a row we won and we got 2nd place the 1st round! WOOT!
Last night the theme was drag queen LOL. O girl we made my makeup hella loud and I all in pink. I'll post pics as soon as they are posted on their website (http://badd-inc.webs.com/apps/photos/). Soooo fun!

Here are a couple of pics of the fit that won us the last round where the theme was Drag Queen. Notice how my makeup is loud and exaggerated and my big hair and all the pink. The judges said that the look was right on target for the theme. We are on a roll and I hope we get to the final 3

Round 4: "Role Reversal"

Funny how we had a tranny contest for our Incognito Thanksgiving bash on Wednesday cuz the theme for most recent round for PR3 this past Tuesday was to come up with a manly girl avatar (or gurly man avatar). This was very hard we thought and unfortunately us and another designer/model were up for elimination but as a twist to the show, we were not eliminated. It was crazy cuz they 1st said told the other designer to step forward and told him he was safe, leaving Tinker (my designer) and I was like O NOES we eliminated? But then the hostess, Princess_Domaro, said "Tinker, you are also safe!" I was like what? It turns out that she just wanted to scare us. It was their Thankgiving gift to all of us LOL WHEW! They did say that we all did well, but this was not our best round after winning the last 2. So we will have to step it up this coming Tuesday.

Here is me in our fit, walking down the runway during the show. The concept was that I was an older business man taking a walk in the part with my cane. Notice that I have no makeup on at all and I'm trying to look like a man, but we almost ran out of time. It was really hard I thought.

Ok the next round of the competition was tonight. Out of 5 remaining designers, 4 would get to create a 10 outfit collection for the semifinals. The theme was Steam Punk. Unfortunately, my designer came up with a fit that didn't really match the theme as well as the judges would like and we were eliminated. I will post pics of our fits and the other 4 models after they are posted to the Project Runway site. However, I was asked to model for the finale and so I will still be in the competition. I feel bad for Tinker my designer who was really sad. It was strange tho, cuz lately she seemed to be communicating less versus the earlier rounds when we won 2 out of the 1st 3 rounds and placed 2nd in the 1st. This round, Tinker came up with the complete outfit and I put it on exactly like she designed it. But the judges didnt see the concept as Steam Punk in it. O well, at least I still get to model in the show and will be working with a new designer and hopefully help her win the entire competition.

Even though my designer was eliminated, I am still continuing on in the show with a new designer, Marne, who now has to come up with a 10 outfit collection for the next show.

Even after my designer, TinkerTanker, lost such and did not advance to the final four, I was asked by the show's hostess, PrincessDomano, to model for 2 out of the 4 remaining designers! The final 4 designers were to put together a 10-piece collection that was shown between Tuesday and last night. 2 outfits were assigned to me by each of the 2 designers, plus I wore an extra one for one of the designers on Tuesday to cover for a model that couldn't show. It was a lot of fun working on the fits and I bought additional content requested by the designers that I never would have thought of buying. In fact, some of the outfits I have saved to rock them outside of the show.

I want to thank May2099 for telling me about PR season 2 and I'm glad I have been able to participate from that day on May was runner up in Season 1 and has been a judge for both season 2 and 3.
